Rock and Roll Child is the story of growing up. Going from youthful ego to adult responsibility.

ACT 1 - LOVE

ORIGINAL - Told from the point of view of a young punk rocker. He has a band with his best friend that they call “The Originals”. At a gig he meets a girl. Roll the track!!!
JUST IN TIME - Egos clash in the band. Friends can’t agree and frustrations fill this song. Who’s right and who’s wrong? Get in line!!!
SOME TOUCH - Boy meets girl. Sparks fly. A duet of sexual tension released. A match is lit. A lifelong relationship begins.
YOU KNOW IT - A song is about Love. Specifically love at first sight. Our boy doesn’t believe in it. Our girl does and she tells him all about it.
EMOTIONAL SCARS - Our boy expresses the empathy he feels as he gets to know her. The relationship grows stronger as he starts to think and feel for someone other than himself.
THE ONLY ONE - When you love someone they become the only one in your life. The only one you want to see every day. The only one you want to sleep with every night. The only one you want to be with for the rest of your life. Everything in our story so far has lead to this moment. When from two come one and love changes you life forever.

ACT 2 - MARRIAGE

FOR YOU DEAR - This song moves along over a few years of ups and downs and ultimately brings the young lovers closer together. Families grow and responsibilities do too. Life is what happens.... you know the rest.
ANGELS - Children change you forever. Once they enter your life you are not the same person. You see everything in them. Your past, your present and your future. They are Angels come to earth.
GARBAGE DAY - Life’s responsibilities can wear on a young man. Daily chores and the redundancy of keeping a young growing family together can be tiring. Questions can become doubts. Are you doing the right thing? Are you able to do it? Fear can become anger which can tear apart a fragile relationship. Answers are not easy to find but hope must be held on to for all.
INNOCENT AGE PT1 - When someone tells you something that you are not ready to hear you will not hear it. And even if it’s true it will not sink in. Words meant to encourage seem like insults and friends and lovers will think they are now all alone.
RANT - Words can become weapons. You can only hurt someone you truly know. Arguments started can take on a life of their own. We don’t think before we speak and people get hurt.
THE NIGHT WON’T TALK - After the fight when things were said in anger sleep is the last thing on your mind. You lie awake wondering what has happened and what will happen in the morning. Alone in your mind your thoughts offer no consolation as you wait for the sun to rise and remove the darkness around you.
WALK AWAY - A song about letting go. Sometimes love is best expressed by not holding someone back but by letting them grow into who they want to be. It may not be what you want but if you love someone you will... you know the rest.

ACT 3 - WORK

INDUSTRIAL PARK - A place where our young man goes to get a “real” job. The irony of it being a “park” is not lost on him. Get to work!!!
HAVE I GOT A JOB FOR YOU - Continuing with the work week we meet the man in charge. He will help you if you need it. The title is not a question to him - it’s a statement.
TRY - A song of optimism. Sometimes it doesn’t take much. Just a little optimistic effort. In this story our young man doesn’t get it. Our young woman does. This is her song.
ROSIE -The story of another mill worker. A quiet woman who did all she could for all she knew. Everyone knew her but nobody really understood her. We are all important. Even the Rosies of our world...
MAINTAINENCE MAN -A song for the working man. He may not like his position but he knows where he is... Damn the man!!!
BOSS - A song for the man in charge by the disgruntled young employee. Still too much ego in the boy to do as he’s told. Will he ever learn? Stay tuned...!
INNOCENCE AGE PT2 - He heard it before. She said it to him and it caused the fight that made her walk away. Now his best friend and his boss are telling him the same thing- you don’t know everything. You don’t have all the answers. No one does at his age.

ACT 4 - REALITY

ROCK AND ROLL CHILD - A self destructive young man goes on a Rock and Roll Rampage of drinking and debauchery. One last night of childhood dreams and nightmares. An ending or a beginning? Rock and Roll!!!
OVERTURE - The soundtrack to a life spiraling out of control. Wandering the city in a drunken haze all night he ends up at her door where he lies down passed out. Finding him there she takes him in....
MY LIFE IS KILLING YOU - The moment of realization. There are people who love you so much that they will pick you up even when you don’t deserve it. They know that they are not the one who can fix you but they won’t let you destroy yourself. Even though you have hurt and hurt them they will never let you down. Hopefully you don’t realize this too late...
DEATH IN THE FAMILY - Loss can bring people together. Old friends who fell apart see their mistake and put differences aside. A death makes the young man re-access his life. He reunites with the best friend he pushed away. They talk about how there is one thing that comes to us all and we should live with each other not against each other. Love while you can...before you lose it forever.
BITTERSWEET VICTORY - After the funeral he see’s her. During their separation while he has struggled she has blossomed and has succeeded. He apologizes for all the problems and trouble he has caused and congratulates her for her accomplishments. A simple wish of support can be all someone needs.
THE THOUGHTS OF THE DAY - A song of reconciliation and reunion. A duet between destiny and inevitably. Reason wins out over doubt. Hope wins out over fear. Honesty wins out over lies. Those meant to be together cannot be kept apart and the magic of Love - true Love will always survive. At the end of the day may the thoughts of your day be happy and loving thoughts.
HAVE YOU NEAR - The final song is a quick one. A punk rock love song for our happy couple to pogo and slam away to.
